No Tsunami Threat following a Magnitude 6.5 earthquake off the coast of Chile (August 1st)
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports to a magnitude 6.5 Moment had occurred off the coast of Santa Cruz, Chile at 8:28 am Hawaii Standard Time.
Based on all assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center and the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center (USTWC), there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO ISLAND OR STATE OF HAWAI'I. Again, THERE IS NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
This will be the only statement for both events, unless further data or information is received.
