Earthquake Information Update for June 18th, 2019
No Tsunami Threat to Hawaii following a Magnitude 6.8 (Moment) earthquake offshore of L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand (Kermedac Islands)
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.8 (moment) earthquake occurred offshore of L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand at 9:02 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) Tuesday evening (June 18th).
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) has completed their assessment on the earthquake and based on all assessments. There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAI'I. Again there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
