No Tsunami Threat to Hawaii Island following at a magnitude 6.9 (Moment) earthquake in Magsaysay, Philippines Saturday evening (December 14th)
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.9 (moment) later downgraded to a 6.8 magnitude earthquake had occurred in the region of Magsaysay, Philippines at 8:11 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on Saturday evening (December 14th).
Based on all assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island and the State of Hawaii. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
This will be the only information statement for this event unless further data is received.
