No Tsunami Threat to Hawaii Island following a magnitude 6.3 earthquake in the area of Port Hardy, British Columbia, Canada on Tuesday evening (December 24th).
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.3 earthquake had occurred in the region of Port Hardy, British Columbia, Canada at 5:36 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on Tuesday evening (December 24th).
Based on all assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) and National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) in Palmer, Alaska: There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island and the State of Hawaii. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
