No Tsunami Threat following a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred in Tanaga Volcano, Alaska (Aleutian Islands) Wednesday evening (January 22nd).
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.2 earthquake had occurred in the region of Tanaga Volcano, Alaska (Aleutian Islands) at 7:53 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on Wednesday evening (January 22nd).
Based on all assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) and National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) in Palmer, Alaska: There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island and the State of Hawaii. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
There is also NO TSUNAMI THREAT for the State of Alaska, Western Coasts of Washington, Oregon, and California.
This will be the only information statement for this event unless further data is received.
