No Tsunami Threat following a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred in the region of Amatignak Island, Alaska (Aleutian Islands) Saturday evening (January 25th).
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.1 earthquake had occurred in the region of Amatignak Island, Alaska (Aleutian Islands) at 8:31 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on Saturday evening (January 25th).
Based on all assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) and National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) in Palmer, Alaska: There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island and the State of Hawaii. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
There is also NO TSUNAMI THREAT for the State of Alaska, Western Coasts of Washington, Oregon, and California.
This will be the only information statement for this event unless further data is received.
