Earthquake Information Statement for January 26th, 2020
No Tsunami Threat following a magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred in the region of Kirakira, Solomon Islands Sunday evening (January 26th).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.3 earthquake had occurred in the region of Kirakira, Solomon Islands at 7:02 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on Sunday evening (January 26th).
Based on all assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) and National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) in Palmer, Alaska: There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island and the State of Hawaii. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
This will be the only information statement for this event unless further data is received.
