No Tsunami Threat to the Island of Hawaii following a magnitude 6.8 earthquake offshore Calatagan, Philippines late Friday morning (July 23rd).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.8 earthquake that occurred approximately 9 miles West-Southwest of Calatagan, Philippines at 10:48 am Hawai'i Standard Time (HST) late Friday morning (July 23rd) at a depth of 65 mile.

Based on all extensive assessments completed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) and the United States Tsunami Warning Center (USTWC) for the State of Hawai'i, there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO THE ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAI'I, AGAIN NO TSUNAMI THREAT.

This will be the only statement for this event unless further data is received
