No Tsunami Threat to the Island of Hawaii following a magnitude 6.9 earthquake in the region of Ust’-Kamchatsk Staryy, Russia Tuesday morning (March 16th).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred in the region of Ust’-Kamchatsk Staryy, Russia at 8:38 am Hawaii Standard Time (HST) Tuesday morning (March 16th).
Based on all assessments completed by the United States Tsunami Warning Center (USTWC) and Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), THERE NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO THE ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAII. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
This will be the only statement for this event unless further data is received.
