No Tsunami Threat to the Island of Hawaii following a magnitude 6.0 earthquake in the region Namie, Japan Thursday afternoon (May 13th).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in the region of Namie, Japan at 1:58 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) early Thursday afternoon (May 13th) at a depth of 43.1 kilometers.


Based on all assessments completed by Japan Tsunami Warning Center (JTWC), National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC), Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), and Australian Tsunami Warning Centre (ATWC), there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAI'I, AGAIN NO TSUNAMI THREAT.

This will be the only information statement for this evenet unless further data is received.
