No Tsunami Threat to the Island of Hawaii following a magnitude 7.3 earthquake in the region Southern Qinghai, China Friday morning (May 21st).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 7.3 earthquake occurred in the region of Southern Qinghai, China at 8:04 am Hawaii Standard Time (HST) Friday morning (May 21st) at a depth of 6.2 miles.
Based on all assessments completed by Japan Tsunami Warning Center (JTWC), National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC), Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), and Australian Tsunami Warning Centre (ATWC), there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAI'I, AGAIN NO TSUNAMI THREAT. This event occurred too far inland to generate a Pacific wide tsunami.
