No Tsunami Threat to the Island of Hawaii following a magnitude 6.4 earthquake in the region of Hihifo, Tonga late Friday evening (November 6th).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.4 earthquake occurred at 11:27 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) Friday evening (November 6th) in the region of Hihifo, Tonga at a depth of 33 kilometers (km).

Based on all assessments conducted by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) and the United States Tsunami Warning Center (USTWC) on this earthquake, there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAI'I. Again, there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT.

This will be the only statement for this event unless further data or information is received.
