Earthquake Information Update for June 2nd, 2020
No Tsunami Threat to Island of Hawaii following a magnitude 6.8 earthquake that occurred in the area of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile late Tuesday evening (June 2nd).

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 6.8 had occurred in the area of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile at a depth of 97 kilometers (KM) at 9:35 pm Hawaii Standard Time (HST) Tuesday evening (June 2nd).
Based on all assessments conducted by the United States Tsunami Warning Centers (USTWC) and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) reports that there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO THE ISLAND AND STATE OF HAWAII. Again, NO TSUNAMI THREAT.
There is also NO TSUNAMI THREAT for the West Coast of the United States (Washington, Oregon, and California).
This will be the only statement for this event unless further data is received.
