East Hawaii Flood Advisory # 2 for February 27th, 2021
A Flood Advisory for the East Hawaii districts of South Hilo and Puna has been extended until Saturday afternoon (February 27th).

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the
* Flood Advisory for...
The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County
* Until 115 PM HST.
* At 952 AM HST, radar indicated that heavy rain had eased over the
slopes of the South Hilo and Puna Districts, but new showers were
developing along the coast, affecting the area from Pepeekeo to
Hilo to Pahoa.
* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Pepeekeo, Hawaiian Acres, Hawaiian
Beaches, Leilani Estates, Orchidland Estates, Nanawale Estates,
and Pahoa.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don`t drown.
A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect.

persists.
