The Flood Advisory for the East Hawaii districts of Ka'ū, Puna, and Hilo (North and South) has been extended until 10:15 am Monday morning (January 25th).

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County
* Until 1015 AM HST.
* At 726 AM HST, radar and automated rain gauges indicated
persistent heavy showers over the Hilo, Puna, and Kau Districts
falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Heavy rainfall is
also occurring on the higher elevations on Saddle Road and is
affecting North Kulani Road near Mountain View. Additional heavy
rainfall is expected through the day.

Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Volcano, Hawaii Volcanoes National
Park, Glenwood, Mountain View, Wood Valley, Pahala, Hawaiian
Acres, Orchidland Estates, Keaau, Pohakuloa Training Area, Punaluu
Beach, Pohakuloa Camp, Kawa Flats, Pahoa, Papaikou, Pepeekeo and
Honomu.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don`t drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1015 AM HST if flooding
persists.
