Hawaii Island Information Update for April 28th, 2020

Production is underway for three (3) new ambulances for the Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) with delivery expected in late June 2020.

Production is now underway for three (3) new ambulances for the Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) at the Braun Northwest Inc. plant in Chehalis, Washington with production wrapping up in late June 2020 and delivery to Hawaii Island following shortly after.

These 3 HFD ambulances (medics) are expected to replace older/heavily used medics currently in service at the Waimea, Paradise Park, and Kailua Fire Stations. These units are expected to go online in July/August 2020. Existing medics will be used as reserves.

Here are some specifications on the medics in production:

• Type I Ambulance - 147" Module

• Mounted on 2019 (2) & 2020 (1) Ford F350 4x4 Diesel Chassis

• LED Emergency Lighting

• Enhanced Security Features
