Victims in 2 deadly pedestrian collisions on Hawaii Island Roadways have been identified
Victims involved in 2 fatal collisions on Hawaii Island Roadways on May 29th and 30th, 2019 have been identified (from HPD Media releases):
Lower Puna Incident: The pedestrian killed in a motor vehicle/ pedestrian crash that occurred (May 29) has been identified

A female pedestrian that died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle/ pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday morning (May 29) on Highway 130, near the 16-mile marker has been identified.
The 66-year-old female has been identified as Jackie Yasuda of Pahoa.
The Traffic Enforcement Unit has initiated a Coroner’s Inquest investigation and is asking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact Officer Jared Cabatu of the Area I Traffic Enforcement Unit at (808) 961-2339.
Kailua-Kona Incident: Police report that the victim in yesterday's (May 30) hit and run in Kona is 35-year-old Masayoki George

A Kailua-Kona man died following a single vehicle hit and run collision on Thursday (May 30) in Kailua-Kona on Hualalai Road, fronting the Kailua-Kona Public Library.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Masayoki George.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
The suspect vehicle is possibly a truck or sport utility vehicle due to the injuries sustained by the victim.
The Area II Traffic Enforcement Unit has initiated a Negligent Homicide investigation and is asking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact Officer Jason Foxworthy at (808) 326-4646 ext. 229.
This is the 10th traffic fatality this year compared to 11 at this time last year.
