Hawaii Island Weather Update # 2 for July 8th, 2019

Flash Flood Watch for Hawaii Island has been cancelled. Wind Advisory remains up for part of Hawaii Island until 8 pm Monday night.

Flash Flood Watch for Hawaii Island has been cancelled as the severe weather associated (moderate to heavy rains) with center of Post Tropical Cyclone Barbara moves to the south of Hawaii Island.

WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM HST THIS EVENING * WINDS...East 25 to 35 mph with higher gusts for most of the Big Island and windward Molokai. * TIMING...Strong gusty winds will continue until later this evening due to passage of a remnant trough associated with Barbara. * IMPACTS...Travel will become difficult on roads especially for high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph, or gusts of at least 50 mph, are expected. Motorists should use extra caution.
