Hilo Information Update for December 18th, 2020
A 41-year-old Hilo man identified as a victim fatally injured in a shooting at the Puainako Town Center in Hilo early Friday morning (December 18th).

The victim is identified as 41-year-old Benjamin Craig Davidson, of Hilo.
On Friday morning, December 18, 2020, shortly after 4:00 a.m., South Hilo Patrol officers responded to the Puainako Town Center for a report of gunshots and a man in a vehicle who had been shot. The victim was transported to Hilo Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed this morning and concluded Davidson died from multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death was determined to be a homicide.
Detectives with the Area I Criminal Investigation Section are continuing this second-degree murder investigation. They are following up on leads and are looking to question the operator of a white two-door-sedan that was seen in the area of the victim’s vehicle and then leaving the parking lot. This individual should be considered armed and dangerous.
