Hilo Information Update for November 27th, 2019

Police Investigation leads to the closure of the business complex parking lot Wednesday afternoon (November 27th).

The Hawaii Police Department (HPD) is on scene of police investigation/incident that occurred at a business complex parking lot in Hilo Wednesday afternoon (November 27th).

The initial call came in just after 12:00 pm Wednesday afternoon and HPD officers responded to the scene located at 50 East Puainako Street in Puainako, Hilo.

Details are very limited at this time, however, details we can confirm was it an officer-involved incident (HPD would not go into details on what type of incident occurred at this time or if they were in pursuit of any suspects or vehicles related to the incident) and HPD officers and detectives are on scene currently beginning their investigation and advising the public to avoid the area until further notice.
