HIRSC Team will be taking a brief hiatus (break) from Wednesday, October 30th to Thursday, November 7th, 2019.
Aloha Followers and Listeners,
First of all, the team here at HIRSC would like to say thank you to all of our followers for your continued support to our website, Facebook page, and scanner feed for the last 2 years and counting, we truly couldn't do it without you folks.
The HIRSC team will be taking a brief hiatus (break) from Wednesday, October 30th to Thursday, November 7th.
During this break, members of the HIRSC team will be attending events/training/preparing for the holiday season ahead and will be away from all of the scanners and unable to provide regular updates as we normally do. Should any major events occur, we will do our best to provide updates on that event.
Some of the training events and seminars that members of our team will be attending include the following:
Wildland Fire Fighting Familiarization
Urban and Airport Fire Fighting Familiarization
Vehicle Extrication Understanding (Related to vehicle extraction methods on new 2020 vehicle models released)
Basic Understanding of Weather Systems and Hazards
Basic Understanding of Law Enforcement Response and Actions
Familiarization of E911 Systems (CAD & Applications)
Understanding of P25 Radio Communication Systems (Refresher Course)
Building Construction/Code Familiarization
Familiarization on Traffic Engineering
Basic understanding of the Incident Command System (ICS)
Basic Understanding of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)
Active Shooter Training
Basic Understanding of a Mass Casualty Response
By attending these events/seminars, it will allow us to improve our knowledge of new things that are coming in 2020.
Also, during that period, should the West Hawaii Scanner Feed go offline/down, restoration of the feed will not be immediate and feed outages during that period state above, will be lengthy.
Thank you again for your continued support and we will see you folks back on Friday, November 8th, 2019.
