The HIRSC - Administration is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of a HIRSC - Moderator in Utah, whom we will solely identify by his first name Dave, at the request of his family during this difficult time.

Dave, who has been with the HIRSC Team since early 2019 and has been based out of Central Utah, providing us with some very helpful information on systems, departments, and also codes used in the State of Utah throughout the Central Utah basin. Dave has been instrumental as well in helping out team roll out a lot of new updates to our website and Facebook page, is also the sole person behind the idea of many of the graphics we use today.

He was also considered our go-to guy when it came to technology and help us migrate our scanner feed system to the new software we use today for the West Hawaii Scanner Feed. He also helped us get equipment repaired and shipped during the incident that occurred in late 2020.

Dave was also a part of the Debriefing and Stress Management Team and assisted many community members throughout Hawaii Island and the State of Hawai'i, which also included many local first responders in Hawai'i and in Ogden City and Provo, Utah.

On the afternoon of Friday, April 30th, 2021, Dave while working in the field at his farm in Ogden City, Utah, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest event witnessed by a family member helping him at the time, who immediately called 911 and began life-saving measures, and was then transported to an area hospital by Ogden City Fire Department (OCFD) in extremely critical condition, where he sadly later took his last breath on earth surrounded by family members on Friday evening at 7:36 pm Mountain Standard Time (MST).

Many of the members of the HIRSC Team will miss Dave for the many jokes that brought us laughter which would make our stomachs hurt, memories made when our team had gotten together for their annual event, treating everyone of us as one of his own family members, and for that just amazing talent when it came to art or graphic designs, which would put us over the top in many instances.

Debriefing and Stress Management Team is assisting all of our team members during this very difficult time and Dave's family has asked for complete privacy during this very difficult time as well. They would like to extend their deepest gratitude for all the condolences and prayers that will be sent their way as well.

No amount of words in the world can truly describe the deep sadness and sorrow the entire HIRSC Team across all sections is really feeling at this exact time.

To Dave, on behalf of the entire HIRSC Team, we would like to thank you for your commitment, dedication, and also service to not only the Island and the State of Hawai'i but also to the greater part of the Western U.S. Mainland.

You may be gone from our sights, but you will never be gone from our hearts.

me ke aloha pumehana, until we meet again.

Rest in Peace, Love, and Aloha,

Benjamin Agdeppa
