Holualoa Information Update for August 28th, 2020
One person critically injured following an ATV accident at a property in Holualoa late Friday afternoon (August 28th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) accident at a property in Holualoa late Friday afternoon (August 28th).
The initial call came in at 4:28 pm Friday afternoon and HFD crews from the Kailua Fire Station and HPD officers from the Kona Patrol responded to the scene located at 75-5700 block of Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 180) in Holualoa, North Kona.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, a report came in from bystanders reporting a male (described to be in his 80's) operating an ATV on private property, had apparently lost control of the ATV, and rolled over. In the course of the rollover, the male operator was thrown from the ATV and be found a short distance away. Bystanders at the scene immediately began providing basic medical aid until emergency crews could arrive a short time later.
Once emergency crews at the scene, HFD Medics immediately took over and began providing advanced medical care. Medics later transported the male operator to the Kona Community Hospital in critical condition.
HPD continues to investigate the incident.
