Honoka'a Information Update for May 10th, 2020
One person is critically injured following an all-terrain vehicle collision outside of Honoka'a town Saturday evening (May 9th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of an all-terrain vehicle collision that occurred just outside of the Honoka'a Town Saturday evening (May 9th).
The initial call came in at 9:31 pm Saturday evening and HFD crews from the Honoka'a Fire Station along with HPD officers from the Hamakua/North Hilo Patrol responded to the scenes located at the Honoka'a Fire Station and near the 4-mile marker on Honoka'a-Waipio Road (Highway 240) in Honoka'a.
Reports came from bystanders for a report of a person (described as a female in her 30's) was apparently involved in a collision involving an all-terrain vehicle had occurred in pasture land near the 4-mile marker on Highway 240 and reported have suffered critical injuries as a result of the collision.
Bystanders then transported the patient from the scene to the Honoka'a Fire Station by private vehicle where HFD Medics immediately began life-saving measures on the patient and later transported the patient to the North Hawaii Community Hospital in critical condition, where at this time no further details were given on the patient's condition.
HPD continues its investigation into the incident.
