Island of Hawaii Information Update for March 26th, 2019

The Hawaii Police Department (HPD) continuing with their search and manhunt for Walter Gomes III into a 7th day. Gomes is wanted in connection for multiple incidents that happened last week in the North Kona and North Kohala districts.
HPD has investigated multiple leads and tips onto his location and come up with negative findings. Whereas of 12:00 pm Tuesday Afternoon, Gomes remains at large. Officers are continuing to follow-up on leads as to his location and they have expanded their search to the entire island.
Family members of the suspect are asking for Walter Gomes III to turn himself into HPD for a safe conclusion to the search and manhunt. They are also concerned for his safety and well-being.
Walter Gomes III, 41 years old of Kona, was last seen wearing a blue hoodie-type top with camouflage cargo shorts. He is described as being 5-feet-11-inches, 182 pounds with brown eyes and buzzed brown hair, a light mustache, and unshaved face.
If you have any information on the whereabouts or sightings of Gomes, you are asked to call HPD’s Non-Emergency at (808) 935-3311. The public is also asked not to approach Gomes as he is still considered armed and dangerous.
