Here's your HIRSC - Friday Weather Forecast for Hawaii Island:

Synopsis:


Most of the Island of Hawaii will continue to see somewhat breezy conditions to prevail over parts of Hāmākua Coast, North and South Hawaii and North Kohala Region (including 'Upolu Point and Kapa'au Town), with some gust, reaching 28 mph. A slight decrease in speeds from a few days ago.


Most of the island will see partly sunny skies or scattered showers in the morning and some afternoon clearing or continued scattered showers throughout the day on Friday (just about the same forecast almost all week). East Hawaii region will see typical trade wind pattern, windward and mauka showers, with some partly sunny conditions throughout some parts. Kona Coast will continue to see a normal Kona Wind pattern, clear skies in the morning and afternoon clouds and showers, some moderate showers with the possibility of heavy showers at times.


East Hawaii (Includes South Hilo and Puna Districts):

  • Will again see a normal trade wind pattern of scattered showers mainly for the South Hilo and Puna Districts through the day and slowly clearing in some areas in the afternoon hours.

  • Winds blowing from the East to Northeast up to 13 mph.

  • Friday High ranging from 78 to 82

  • Friday Low ranging from 62 to 68

Hāmākua Coast (North Hilo to Hāmākua Districts):

  • Partly sunny skies with some afternoon scattered showers in some areas in the North Hilo and Hāmākua Districts and winds blowing from the East-Southeast up to 18 mph.

  • Breezier conditions in Honoka'a, Pa'auhau, and Kukuihaele areas seeing gust up to 25 mph.

  • Friday High ranging from 76 to 79

  • Friday Low ranging from 60 to 65

North Hawaii (North and South Kohala Districts including the Kohala Coast):

  • Kamuela to Kapa'au will see locally breezy conditions with scattered showers.

  • Winds will be blowing from east to northeast up to 18 mph and gust up 25 mph.

  • Friday High ranging from 73 to 79

  • Friday Evening Low ranging from 53 to 67

  • Kawaihae to Waikoloa Beach Resort area will see sunny to mostly sunny skies and some scattered clouds and showers in some parts of the Kohala Coast (Gold Coast).

  • Winds will be blowing from the southeast to the northeast up to 9 mph.

  • Friday High ranging from 80 to 84

  • Friday Evening Low ranging from 70 to 72

  • Waikoloa Village will see mostly sunny skies with isolated showers developing in the afternoon hours and clearing in the evening.

  • Winds blowing from east to northeast to 11 mph.

  • Friday High at 81

  • Friday Low at 67

Kona Coast (North and South Kona Districts):

  • Continue to see its normal convective weather pattern, mostly sunny skies in the morning and afternoon clouds, and scattered showers along the Kona Coast from daytime heating/sea breeze conditions, particularly upper elevations.

  • Winds will be West and southwest up to 8 mph.

  • Friday High ranging from 77 to 82

  • Friday Evening Low ranging from 65 to 72

South Hawaii (Entire District of Ka'ū):

  • Will continue to see mostly sunny skies in the morning and afternoon clouds and scattered showers with locally breezy conditions, particularly in the Na'alehu, Volcano, and Ka Lae (South Point) Region.

  • Winds blowing from the East, Northeast, and North up to 16 mph, with some localized gust at 22 mph.

  • Winds around the Hawaiian Ranchos and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision will be from the East up to 11 mph.

  • Friday High ranging from 67 to 79

  • Friday Low ranging from 56 to 64
