A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT THE KAU DISTRICT...
At 404 PM HST, a strong thunderstorm was located near Pahala, or 43
miles southeast of Kailua-Kona, moving south at 5 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storm.
Locations impacted include...
Naalehu, Pahala, Kawa Flats, Punaluu Beach, Wood Valley, Discovery
Harbour and Waiohinu.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
