Kaiholena Information Update for October 24th, 2020
The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) at the scene of an active brush fire started off of Akoni Pule Highway (Highway 270) near Kaiholena in North Kohala Saturday evening (October 24th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) is at the scene of an active/confirmed brush fire off of Akoni Pule Highway (Highway 270) near Kaiholena in North Kohala that started Saturday evening (October 24th).
The initial call came in at 10:19 pm Saturday evening and HFD crews from the North Kohala, South Kohala, Waimea, and Waikoloa Fire Stations along with Battalion 2, Volunteers from the Anekona and Kohala Ranch Stations responding or at the scene of the fire located near the 11-mile marker on Highway 270.
Numerous reports came into HFD dispatch reporting a brush fire approximately 1+ acres in size and growing was burning in the area of Kaiholena in dry and heavy brush.
