Upon the arrival of emergency crews, reports came in from security and bystanders in the area reporting heavy smoke was visible coming from a business (the building is described as a two-story metal frame building approximately 2,000 square feet in size) and transmission power lines coming from the building was reported to be arcing as well as a result of the fire. Smoke from the fire was visible from throughout Kailua Village, Kealakehe, and also the Holualoa.
