Kailua-Kona Information Update for June 16th, 2020
Rescue crews continue their search for 29-year-old, Clare Maney, at Old Kona Airport Beach Park (Makaeo Beach Park) Tuesday (June 16th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) is continuing their search for a missing 29-year-old Clare Maney, last seen Sunday, June 14th.

Officials found Maney's vehicle at Makaeo Park (Old Kona Airport Park) Monday afternoon (June 15th) and HFD Rescue personnel along with HPD Officers from the Kona Patrol and Criminal Investigative Division (CID) converged at Makaeo Park, where an all-out land, air, and sea search began shortly before 3:00 pm Monday afternoon.
HPD K9 Search Dog conducted a search of the immediate area near Maney's vehicle and later traced Maney's scent, which led them to the rocky shoreline of Makaeo Park, commonly known as Shark Cove. HPD officers later reviewed surveillance footage showing Maney was last seen with black fins near Shark Cove at 9:00 am Monday morning.

On Monday evening, HFD and HPD officials suspended their search due to nightfall and came up with negative findings.
On Tuesday morning (June 16th), HFD and HPD officials continuing their search for Maney at Makaeo Park, and joining the search is HFD's Ocean Safety Jet Ski Team assisting HFD Rescue crews with an ocean search. USCG Dolphin Helicopter conducted an aerial search of the Kona Coast between Honokohau Harbor to Keauhou Bay. A USCG Cutter was conducting a grid search offshore of Makaeo Beach.
As of 6:00 pm Tuesday evening, HFD crews have suspended their search for Maney and came up with negative findings. Crews are expected to continue tomorrow morning (Wednesday, June 17th). USCG is expected to continue to their search through the evening.
Maney's is being described as 5-feet-11-inches, about 145 pounds, fair complexion, blonde hair, and blue eyes.
