Kailua-Kona Information Update for June 7th, 2021

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking information in regards to an adrift yellow kayak found in waters offshore of Kailua Pier in Kailua-Kona Sunday morning (June 6th).

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking information regarding an adrift yellow Malibu Kayaks Pro Explorer found 1 mile west of the Kailua Kona pier, Sunday.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Sector Honolulu command center at 808-842-2600.

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) was notified of the floating kayak west of Kailua Pier approximately 1 mile offshore at around 9:52 am Sunday morning (June 6th), however, since no official report of a missing kayaker or person was filed, no search will be conducted until a confirmed report is filed with USCG or the Hawaii Police Department (HPD).

Should that change, we will provide an information update as that details become available.
