The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the drive-thru lane at Taco Bell in Kailua-Kona Wednesday evening (May 27th).
The initial call came in at 5:44 pm Wednesday evening and HFD crews from the Kailua-Kona Fire Station along with HPD officers from the Kona Patrol responded to the scene located 74-5600 block of Palani Road in Kailua-Kona.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, reports came in from bystanders that a vehicle (described as an older model Volkswagen van) was reported to be fully engulfed in flames in the drive-thru lane of Taco Bell and parked close to the take-out window.
