Kailua-Kona Traffic Advisory for May 5th, 2021
Traffic Signal Pole Replacement Work will take place on Wednesday, May 5th, and lead to lane closures on Makala Boulevard near Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Highway 19).

The Hawai'i Department of Transportation (HDOT) announces on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 that the County of Hawai'i Department of Public Works (DPW) Traffic Division crews will be conducting traffic signal pole replacement work at the intersection of Makala Boulevard and Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Highway 19).
Work will take place from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.
During work hours, the Westbound Lanes of Makala Boulevard from the intersections of Queen Kaahumanu Highway and Luhia Street (Kona Common Shopping Center - Mauka entrance) will be temporarily closed to allow crews to complete pole replacement work.
Motorists are being asked to used alternate routes during the scheduled work hours.
