Juvenile male seriously injured following a home accident in Kealakehe, North Kona late Wednesday morning (April 29th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of a home accident that occurred at a residence in the Kealakehe area in North Kona late Wednesday morning (April 29th).
The initial call came in at 11:59 am Wednesday afternoon and HFD crews from the Kailua and Keauhou Fire Stations along with HPD officers from the Kona Patrol responded to the scene located at the 74-900 block of Manawalea Street in the Kealakehe Subdivision in North Kona.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, reports came in that juvenile male (described as a male under the age of 15) was reported to be hit (impaled) to the face by a spear from a speargun. Bystanders at the scene immediately rendered aid, secured the spear, and awaited the arrival of emergency crews. The juvenile was reported to be conscious and alert at the time of the incident.
Once emergency crews arrived at the scene, HFD crews immediately took over medical care and shortly thereafter, transported the juvenile male to the Kona Community Hospital in serious condition for further medical treatment, where at this time, no further details were provided on juvenile's current condition.
