Keauhou Information Update for August 14th, 2021
One person is in extremely critical condition following a critical medical emergency aboard a tour boat at Keauhou Bay in Keauhou, North Kona Saturday evening (August 14th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of a critical medical emergency at Keauhou Bay in Keauhou, North Kona Saturday evening (August 14th).
The initial call came in at 9:00 pm Saturday evening and HFD Crews from the Keauhou Fire Station along with HPD Officers from the Kona Patrol responded to the scene at Keauhou Bay Pier aboard a tour boat staged at the pier.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, a report came in from a tour boat reporting a person (described as male approximately in his 60s) onboard the boat was having difficultly breathing following a diving tour just outside of Keauhou Bay. Shortly thereafter, the male patient then went unresponsive and personnel aboard the boat immediately began life-saving measures with an AED applied until arriving at Keauhou Bay Pier to await the arrival of emergency crews.
Once emergency crews arrived at the scene, HFD Medic immediately took over life-saving measures and later prepared the patient to be transported to the hospital. HFD Medic then transported the male patient to the Kona Community Hospital in extremely critical condition, where at this time, his condition remains unknown.
HPD Officers continue to investigate the incident.
