The Hawaii Police Department (HPD) has initiated a murder investigation following a shooting incident in Keauhou, North Kona Tuesday evening (May 25th).

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. yesterday evening, May 25, 2021, police responded to a report of an unresponsive male party lying on the ground at Keauhou Kainaliu Beach Road, commonly known as “End of the World”.
Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section responded and are continuing the investigation, which has been classified as second-degree murder.
The male victim was transported to the Kona Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
