Kona Coast Flood Advisory for June 19th, 2021

An Urgent Flood Advisory has been issued for the Kona Coast District of North Kona through late Saturday evening (June 19th).

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County

* Until 1100 PM HST.

* At 756 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the Kona area. Rain
  was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Holualoa, Honalo, Kahaluu-Keauhou,
  Kainaliu, Kealakekua, Kalaoa, Honaunau and Kona International
  Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1100 PM HST if flooding
persists.
