The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County
* Until 1030 PM HST.
* At 719 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over portions of leeward
Big Island, with a rain gage in Waiaha reporting very heavy
rainfall, while over an inch of rain has already fallen near
Kealakekua this evening. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2
inches per hour.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Honalo, Holualoa, Kahaluu-Keauhou,
Kainaliu, Kealakekua, Kalaoa and Honaunau.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

persists.
