One person in critical condition following a single-vehicle accident in Holualoa Sunday morning (October 6th).
The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a critical single-vehicle accident on Hale O Pueo Road near Mamalahoa Hwy (Highway 180) in Holualoa Sunday morning (October 6th).
The initial call came in at 8:08 am Sunday morning and crews from the Kailua-Kona and Keauhou Fire Stations responded to the scene located at the 74-4900 block of Hale O Pueo Road, just below Highway 180 in Holualoa. Upon the arrival of HFD crews, bystanders reported a vehicle rolled over and on its side with one patient with serious injuries.
Once HFD crews arrived on scene, they extricated the patient (describe to be male in his 70's-80's) from the vehicle and immediately began life-saving measures. HFD Medics later transported the male patient to the Kona Community Hospital in extremely critical condition, where at this time his condition remains unknown.
HFD crews turned the scene over to HPD, where they are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
