Kona Traffic Advisory for November 9th, 2019

Southbound Lane of Ali'i Drive between Hualalai Road to End of the World in Keauhou will be closed for the 100% Pure Kona Coffee Run Event happening on Saturday morning (November 9th).

The annual 100% Pure Kona Coffee Half Marathon and Marathon event will be taking place in Kailua-Kona Saturday, November 9th, 2019.

The following lane closure and traffic pattern will be in effect:

- Southbound (or makai) Lane of Ali'i Drive between End of the World to Hualalai Road will be closed from 5:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

- The Northbound (or mauka) lane will remain open for the duration of the race.

Traffic needing to travel between Kailua-Kona to Keauhou should use alternate routes during that time.

Here are some details on the race course:


Coconut Grove Marketplace

75-5809 Ali’i Drive, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740

The race is an out and back course. You will head south on Ali’i Drive to the “Pit” at the “End of the World” and then back.



All aid stations will have water and Gatorade available.

Aid stations are located approximately every 1.5 miles. It is a loop course so you will pass each aid station twice.

•Aid Station #1: Mile 1.5 and Mile 11.5- By Ali’i Gardens Marketplace

•Aid Station #2: Mile 3 and 10- By Magic Sands Beach Park

•Aid Station #3: Mile 4.5 and 8.5- By Kona Coast Resort

•Aid Station #4: Mile 6 and 7- At the top of the “Pit”


There will be portable toilets at the race start and at mile 4.5, 6, 7, and 8.5. There are public toilets along the course as well.


The Marathon will be a double loop of our Half Marathon course.


Aid stations will be approximately every 1.5 miles.

They will be located at Miles:

1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7, 8.5, 10, 11.5, 13, 15, 16.5, 18, 19.5, 20.5, 22, 23.5, 25.


There will be portable toilets at the race start and at mile 4.5, 6, 7, 8.5, 18, 19.5, 20.5, 22.
