A Flood Advisory has been issued for the North Hawaii Districts of North and South Kohala until Monday evening (August 16th).

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County

* Until 700 PM HST.

* At 358 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the Kohala
  Mountains falling up to 2 inches per hour.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Kapaau, Kohala Ranch, Kawaihae, Pololu Valley, Halaula, Waimanu
  Valley, Puako, Hawi, Kamuela, Waipio Valley and Mahukona.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 700 PM HST if flooding
persists.
