The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County
* Until 1000 PM HST.
* At 650 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over leeward slopes of
the Kohala mountains, from Waikaloa Village northward to near
Upolu point. Rain was falling at a rate of around 1 inch per hour.
Minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is possible.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Waikoloa Village, Kapaau, Kohala Ranch, Kawaihae, Puako, Hawi,
Kamuela, Mahukona and Mauna Lani.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
