North Kohala Information Update for August 17th, 2019
Brush fire in North Kohala keeps HFD crews busy early Saturday morning (August 17th, 2019)

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) is currently on scene of a brush fire that is currently burning in open pasture land in the makai (ocean side) of the 11-mile maker on Highway 270 (or Akoni Pule Highway) in North Kohala.
The initial call came in at 12:03 am Saturday morning (August 17th) and HFD crews from the North Kohala, Waimea, South Kohala, and Waikoloa Fire Stations along with Battalion 2 and volunteers from the Anekona station responded to the scene located below the 11-mile marker of Highway 270.
Currently at this time, No roads are closed or evacuations orders are in effect at this time. Motorist are asked to drive with caution in the area while HFD crews work in the area.
