Small Structure destroyed in an early morning fire in HOVE

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to reported of structure fire in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates (HOVE) subdivision in Ka'u Monday morning (June 10th).
The initial call came in at 6:03 am and crews from the HOVE and Pahala Fire Stations along with Battalion 1 and volunteers from the Ocean View station responded to the scene located at the corner of Luau Drive and Orchid Parkway in HOVE.
Upon the arrival of HFD crews, nearby residences reported black smoke could be seeing from all over HOVE.
Once HFD crews arrived on scene, they determined a 200 square foot structure was fully engulfed in flames and HFD crews went into a defensive firefighting attack to gain control of the fire. Crews were able to have the fire under control at 6:35 am and they continued with mop-up and overhauling operations of the structure. Also determined that structure was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported and also cause of the remains unknown and under investigation.
