Ocean View Information Update for November 12th, 2020
One person seriously injured following a single-vehicle collision on Aloha Boulevard in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates (HOVE) subdivision Thursday morning (November 12th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Aloha Boulevard in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates (HOVE) subdivision in Ka'u Thursday morning (November 12th).
The initial call came in at 10:47 am Thursday morning and HFD crews from the HOVE Fire Station along with volunteers from the Ocean View station and HPD officers from the Ka'u Patrol responded to the scene located on Aloha Boulevard below the intersection with King Kamehameha Boulevard in HOVE.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, reports came in from nearby residents reporting a large box cargo truck had overturned on Aloha Boulevard, blocking all lanes of traffic. The operator of the vehicle (described as a male in his 30's) had self-extricated and suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. Bystanders provided basic medical care until emergency crews arrived at the scene.
Once emergency crews arrived at the scene, HFD Medics taken over medical care of the male operator and then later transported him to the Kona Community Hospital in serious condition for further medical treatment.
Aloha Boulevard was closed from Paradise Parkway and King Kamehameha Boulevard while HFD and Ocean View Road Maintenance crews worked to clean up the roadway and clear the truck. At last check at 2:45 pm, Aloha Boulevard remained closed to all traffic and crews were still at the scene completing clean-up efforts.
