The Hawaii Police Department (HPD) has positively identified a male found deceased in Polulū Valley Friday, September 18th, 2020. Identity being withheld pending next of kin notification.

On Friday, September 18, 2020, at about 9:53 a.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased male in Pololū Valley, about 100 yards from the bottom of the entrance trail. With the assistance of the Hawaiʻi Fire Department, police located the body, but at the time were not able to identify him.
Although police have now positively identified him, his identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Police are conducting a Coroner’s Inquest investigation to determine the cause and manner of death. Foul play is not suspected.
