Fire damages a residence in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision Sunday afternoon (April 12th).
The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) are on the scene of a residential structure in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision in Puna that was reported Sunday afternoon (April 12th).
The initial call came in 5:36 pm Sunday afternoon and HFD crews from the Kea'au, Paradise Park, and Pahoa Fire Station along with Battalion 1, volunteers from the Hawaiian Paradise Park station, and HPD officers from the Puna Patrol responded to the scene located at the 15-1800 block of 32nd Avenue in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, neighbors reported that a residence (described as a single-story family dwelling) was reported to be fully engulfed in flames with heavy smoke showing.
Preliminary details received on this incident, once emergency crews arrived on the scene, reported that approximately 4 rooms of the residence were reported to be fully engulfed in flames and HFD crews immediately worked to gain control of the fire and prevent further spread to the residence.
