Puna Information Update for November 27th, 2019

Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old female stemming from a stabbing incident in Hawaiian Beaches Wednesday morning (November 27th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a stabbing incident at residences in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision in Puna Wednesday morning (November 27th).


The initial call came in at 11:50 am and HFD crews from Pahoa Fire Station along with HPD officers from the Puna Patrol responded to the scene located at a residence (General location is being referenced in photo, the exact location is being withheld due to the nature of the incident and also age) in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision in Puna.


Upon the arrival of emergency crews, reports came in that a child (described as a 4-year-old girl) suffered a life-threatening stab wound to the neck and residences were performing life-saving measures until emergency crews arrived on scene.


Once emergency crews arrived on scene, HFD Medics immediately took over life-saving measures and shortly thereafter, transported the 4-year-old female to the Hilo Medical Center in extremely critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.


HPD Detectives with the Area I Juvenile Aid Section are continuing this investigation, which is classified as manslaughter.
