Please be aware that runners will be on the roadway the morning of the race. Use caution and be alert to help keep everyone safe. Also, note that certain roads in your area will be impacted by adjusted traffic patterns during the race. The following lane and shoulder closures will be in effect:

  • Old Saddle Road: The South-Eastbound lane of Old Saddle Rd. from Route 190 (Mamalahoa Hwy) to Daniel K. Inouye Hwy will be closed from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. Residents of Waiki'i Ranch and surrounding area will be able to travel in the Northbound lane only toward Route 190 (Mamalahoa Hwy) during this time. To access Daniel K. Inouye Hwy, they may take Old Saddle Rd. North to Route 190 (Mamalahoa Hwy), then proceed south on Route 190 (Mamalahoa Hwy) to connect to Daniel K. Inouye Hwy. Officers will be on Old Saddle Rd. managing the closure.

  • Route 190 (Mamalahoa Highway): The Northbound lane of Route 190 (Mamalahoa Hwy) will be closed from Waikoloa Rd. to Old Saddle Rd. from 6:45 am to 10:30 am. Vehicles traveling north on Route 190 will be instructed to use Daniel K. Inouye Hwy or Waikoloa Rd to access other areas of the island. Please plan ahead for this closure if you typically use Route 190 to access Waimea. You will need to use alternate routes.

  • Waikoloa Road: Waikoloa Road will have a mandatory speed reduction on January 18, 2020. While traffic patterns will not be affected, please use caution while entering and exiting Waikoloa Road. Runners will be running in the Eastbound lane shoulder. Officers will be in the area enforcing the speed reduction. Please be alert and watch for runners.

  • Queen Kaahumanu Highway & Waikoloa Beach Drive: Runners will be on the Northbound shoulder of Queen K. Hwy from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. Runners will be crossing into Waikoloa Beach resort at the Southern entrance. Please use caution when traveling on Queen K. and expect delays
