Hawaiian Electric (HECO) - Hawaii Island announces a planned outage is scheduled for Thursday night (November 19th) for parts of Volcano and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HVNP).

Hawaiian Electric (HECO) - Hawaii Island announces that crews will be performing maintenance and upgrades to electrical equipment and in order to perform the work safely, an outage is planned from 10:00 pm, Thursday, November 19th till 6:00 am Friday, November 20th.
The outage will affect residents in the following areas (Map of the affected area above):
Highway 11 between Namakanipaio Campgrounds to the 30-mile marker.
Residents along and surrounding Pi'imauna Drive (Area of Volcano Country Club including a Volcano Winery)
Kilauea Military Camp (KMC) in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HVNP)
HECO recommends the following to residents in the affected area:
Keep freezers and refrigerators closed.
Use a generator, but ONLY outdoors and away from windows.
Do not use a gas stove and ovens to heat your home.
Disconnect appliances and electronics to avoid damage from electrical surges.
Have alternate plans for refrigerating medicines or using power-dependent medical devices.
HECO regrets any disruption the outage could cause and thanks residents in the affected area for their patience and understanding.
